Training in RAMAN microscopy

Aleksandar Nedeljković, PhD student (FOODTECH group) completed training in Raman microspectroscopy. Training visit was conducted from 10th March to 31st May 2014 at Institute for Physical Chemistry, Friedrich Schiller University, Jena (Germany) under supervision of Dr Petra Röesch, research associate. Overall aim of the training was to obtain basic knowledge and skills necessary for using Raman and FTIR spectroscopy in analysis of foodstuffs, especially dairy products.

The first international conference of AREA project

The first international conference of AREA project “EU Project Collaborations: Challenges for Research Improvements in Agriculture” was held 2-4 June, 2014 at the Faculty of Agriculture, Belgrade. The conference is designed as a stimulating forum for exchange of ideas, information, knowledge and experiences and with the goal of helping scientists from Serbia and other West Balkans countries to improve their opportunities for international collaborative research.

Fact finding visits to other EU institutions to increase networking

Dr Sava Vrbnicanin, Professor and dr Dragana Bozic, Assistant Professor (WEEDSCI group) visited institute Rothamsted Research, United Kingdom, on 12th  and 13th May  2014. The aim of visit was preparation of Stage 2 of project entitled “Integrated  Weed Management: PRActical Implementation and Solutions for Europe (IWMPRAISE)”, which  have been applied for HORIZON 2020, Call H2020-SFS-2014-2 (H2020 Societal Challenge 2 – Food security, sustainable agriculture and forestry, marine and maritime and inland water research and the bioeconomy).

Visit of AREA senior researchers to EU training institution-Report of visit of senior AREA researchers to University of Jena, Germany

Visit to University of Jena (Germany) was realized in term of 1st - 7th December 2013, according to proposed activities within the AREA project of University of Belgrade, Faculty of Agriculture (WP 1 Visits of senior researchers to the partner institutions).

New Project - Linnaeus Palme Project

As result of fact finding visit (FOODTECH Group), to the Department for Food Technology, Engineering and Nutrition, Lund University, Sweden, the new project Linnaeus Palme Project 2014/2015 is approved, supported by Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency.

Program of Linnaeus Palme Project 2014/2015 opens opportunity for exchanging of researchers (professors and students - ungraduated, master and PhD), between the Department for Food Technology, Engineering and Nutrition, Lund University and Faculty of Agriculture University of Belgrade, straightening cooperation for long period in future (8 years), advancing study programs and education system at Faculty of Agriculture, University of Belgrade, Serbia.
